Frequently
Asked Questions
- Why use my new Westminster e-mail
address?
- Your Westminster e-mail address will
never change and can be configured to forward
mail to your current e-mail address. If
your e-mail address should change, other
friends and alumni can still reach you
via your Westminster account.
- What if I want e-mail forwarded to
my current e-mail account?
- You can notify Sara
Anderson regarding this request and
your mail will be forwarded to any valid
internet e-mail address.
- Do I need FirstClass Client to use
the WestNet e-mail system?
- No, although the FirstClass client software
is easy to use and has many built in features
as a mail client, it is not required to
access the WestNet e-mail system. If you
want to configure your own mail system
(such as Eudora or Navigator) to use Westminster's
server, the address is webmail.westminster-school.org.
You can use these settings for both the
SMTP outbound messages and POP3 incoming
mail.
- How do I set up FirstClass to use
the WestNet system?
- At the FirstClass login screen, click
on the setup button. Connect via TCP-IP.FCP
and for the server: webmail.westminster-school.org.
Enter your userid and password. Your userid
is typically your first_initial|last_name|grad_year.
For example, Joe Smith '76 would be jsmith76.
If you are having problems with your password
or have lost or forgotten it, please contact Sara
Anderson.
- What about junk mail?
- Since the directory is NOT published
on any internet e-mail directory and personal
e-mail addresses are not listed, you should
not receive any unsolicited e-mail. Our
e-mail server filters out most e-mail spamming
services.
